Odisha Achieves Pass Rates Of 99.08% In ICSE Class X, 98.90% In ISC Class XII

Bhubaneswar: Girls have outperformed boys in both ICSE Class X and ISC Class XII examinations in Odisha, the results of which were declared on Monday.

The state has registered an impressive pass percentage of 99.08% in Class X and 98.90% in Class XII.

In the Class X examinations, 8,739 students from 93 schools across Odisha took the exam. The pass percentage of girl students stood at 99.34%, while boys achieved a commendable 98.85%. While 1,726 students from 33 schools appeared in the Class XII exam, here too the girls surpassed boys with a pass percentage of 98.95%%. The pass percentage among boys was 98.85%, according to the TOI.

In Bhubaneswar, Sumit Mishra and Dibyansh Kar of Loyola School scored the highest of 93.5% in the science stream in the institute, while Angel Mohanty of commerce stream topped with 89.25% and Shardhanjali Swain of arts stream with 93.25%.

Several states/UTs, including Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chandigarh, Goa, Haryana, Manipur, Meghalaya, New Delhi, and Puducherry, have achieved a perfect pass percentage of 100% in the ISC exam. So was the case in ICSE exam, in which 9 states/UTs, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, New Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Puducherry, and Rajasthan, achieved a perfect score of 100%.

The council, however, did not announce names of ICSE, ISC toppers as a measure to avoid ‘unhealthy competition’ among students.

The ICSE and ISC examinations, which was scheduled from February 21-April 3, were extended until April 4 as two papers had to be rescheduled. While Class XII Chemistry paper, initially set for February 26, was postponed to March 21, Psychology examination was rescheduled from May 27 to April 4 after a question paper packet was reported lost at one exam centre.
