Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Adventure Tourism Guidelines-2025 were finalised by the state government on Tuesday. The guidelines were given a final touch in a meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that along with other sectors, tourism projects will be developed in the state with the vision of ‘Think India, Think Odisha’. The adventure tourism sector will be made so attractive that when people think of coming to India, Odisha will first come to their mind.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Developed India-2047 (Viksit Bharat-2047), plans are being prepared for the development of various sectors of Odisha and tourism is an important component, the CM said.
These guidelines are part of the comprehensive vision that has been laid for the development of Odisha. The aim is to develop various places of natural beauty as major destinations for adventure tourism. The potential places for adventure tourism will be mapped in all 30 districts of the state and developed. Along with the promotion of rafting in Satkosia and hot air ballooning on Hirakud, the state also aims to provide different tourism facilities in other places as well.
Promotion of tourism in an effective manner will also create a lot of opportunities for the youth of the state. According to these guidelines, the youth will be trained and certified for various adventure tourism activities – water, land and sky. This will create a lot of employment opportunities for them. For this, private sector participation will also be encouraged. Private sector participation will be approved through the ‘Go Adventure’ portal.
Arrangements have also been made to provide attractive incentives to private companies for investment in the tourism sector under the Odisha Tourism Policy-2022. The state government will continue its efforts to develop Odisha as an attractive hub in the global competitive tourism sector.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and Tourism Secretary Balwant Singh were present in the meeting.
