Bhubaneswar: Album actress Ruchismita Guru, who was found hanging inside a house at Sudapada in Odisha’s Balangir, was reportedly suffering from depression and had undergone treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Her father told the media that Ruchismita would get depressed whenever there was paucity of programmes. “She was also trying her luck in Ollywood. She had big dreams. I had lost my son, who was also under treatment for depression, in a similar manner about four years ago but Ruchismita’s death has come a big blow for me,” he added.
Ruchismita, a resident of Talapalipada here, was also a known singer in the entertainment industry.
The actress’ mother said that she had made similar attempts to end her life in the past.
Her uncle, whom she was visiting, said that they left around 11 am to attend a social function and found her hanging from the ceiling with a saree on returning home at 5 pm.
Earlier in month, popular DJ Azex was also found hanging in his room at his Kharvela Nagar residence in Bhubaneswar.
