Bhubaneswar: Inox Solar, a subsidiary of Inox Clean Energy, has secured 70 acres of land in Odisha’s Dhenkanal for setting up a solar module and photovoltaic cell manufacturing facility with a capacity of 4.8 GW each.

The ₹4,000 crore project, which is expected to generate 3,400 employment opportunities, had got the state Cabinet nod in January this year. It will be developed in two phases and help Odisha achieve 7.5 GW solar capacity target by 2030 as part of its renewable energy policy.

“We are delighted to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of expanding the horizon of renewable energy. This investment aligns with our dream of transforming Odisha into a green energy powerhouse. By facilitating the establishment of a solar cell and module manufacturing plant, we are not only promoting sustainable industrial growth but also creating new job opportunities and boosting economic development across the state,” said Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

The company, in a statement, said that this initiative supports both the state’s sustainability goals and the nation’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030. “We are honoured to partner with the Odisha government in their mission to promote green energy and aid the Prime Minister’s vision of transforming India into a clean energy hub,” said INOXGFL Group executive director Devansh Jain.

Inox Solar is part of Inox Clean Energy, which is one of the renewable energy business units of INOXGFL. Its first solar module factory in Gujarat, with an initial capacity of 1.2 GW, was projected to be operational by March.
