Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) under Odisha’s School and Mass Education Department has announced the timeline for Phase-II online admissions to fill vacant Class XI seats across higher secondary schools for the 2026–27 academic year.
Operating through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal at samsodisha.gov.in, the application window for the Common Application Form (CAF) will open on August 24 at 10 AM and close on August 31 at 11:45 PM.
According to the official schedule, the initial selection merit list for Phase-II will be released on September 3. Students named in this list must report to their respective allotted institutions for document verification and enrollment between September 7 and 10, during which schools will update admission records on the portal. Participating institutions will then have until September 11 to correct any data discrepancies.
A secondary choice-locking phase will allow applicants to revise and finalise their preferred options from September 12 to 16.
Following this, the online spot selection merit and waiting lists will be declared on September 21, with spot admissions slated from September 22 to 25. If seats remain unfilled after the spot admission round, physical handwritten applications from waiting-list candidates will be accepted on September 26, and the final merit list will be published the same day.
Eligibility extends to candidates who have cleared the High School Certificate (HSC) examination administered by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, or equivalent Class 10 board examinations.
Unlike the primary intake cycle, Phase-II admissions will strictly follow open merit without any category reservation, weightage points, or slide-up facilities.
Candidates, who registered during Phase-I but failed to secure a seat, can reapply without paying the CAF fee, whereas fresh applicants will need to pay the standard fee structure- Rs 200 for General/SEBC categories and Rs 100 for SC/ST applicants, with exemptions for PwD, transgender, and orphan candidates.
The directorate has advised applicants to exercise extreme care while completing the CAF, warning that incomplete or inaccurate submissions could lead to rejection. Seat availability for the primary selection will be locked as of August 31, while spot allotments will depend on vacancies as of September 16, with no subsequent claims entertained for vacancies opening after these cutoff dates.
