Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has approved 23 industrial investment proposals worth Rs 4,510.65 crore, which are projected to create over 10,000 direct jobs across 11 districts in the state.
The clearances came during the 145th meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
The approved projects cover a diverse range of sectors, including wood-based industries, chemicals, apparel and technical textiles, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, manufacturing, aluminium and steel downstream industries, food and agro processing, gemstones and jewellery, infrastructure, IT & ITES, and tourism & hospitality. The investments will be implemented in districts such as Balasore, Bolangir, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh, promoting deeper industrial reach beyond traditional hubs.
The standout projects are as follows:
Century Plyboards (India) Limited’s particle board manufacturing unit in Koraput, with an investment of Rs 870.82 crore, expected to generate 1,000 jobs and bolster southern Odisha’s industrial base.
Siddhiriddhi International Private Limited’s expansion of an integrated steel plant in Keonjhar, involving Rs 610 crore and creating 1,500 employment opportunities, reinforcing the state’s core metal sector.
Sonaselection India Limited’s garment manufacturing unit in Khurda (Rs 130 crore, 1,858 jobs) and Alphatex Private Limited’s technical textile unit in the same district (Rs 180 crore, 1,050 jobs), both aimed at boosting labour-intensive manufacturing.
Coastal Biotech Private Limited’s grain-based ethanol unit with co-generation power plant in Kalahandi (Rs 350 crore, 500 jobs), supporting rural agro-industrial growth.
PricewaterhouseCoopers Services LLP’s IT services and technology delivery centre in Khurda (Rs 60 crore, 640 high-skilled jobs), enhancing the digital economy.
Several tourism projects, including 4-star luxury resorts and hotels in Koraput, Bhubaneswar, Balangir, and Puri, to strengthen hospitality infrastructure.
Other notable approvals include chemical plants by Pidilite Industries Limited in Balasore and Paradeep Phosphates Limited in Jagatsinghpur, pharmaceutical units like Alteus Life Limited in Cuttack, metal extraction and steel downstream projects in Balasore, Sundargarh, and Cuttack, and an infrastructure logistics park in Sambalpur by Chalah Infratech Private Limited.
These latest clearances build on ongoing efforts to realise the goals of Samruddha Odisha 2036, transforming the state into a prominent industrial and economic powerhouse in eastern India while contributing to the country’s broader growth narrative, an official release said.
