Balasore: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Saturday detected two palatial buildings worth Rs 1.22 crore and Rs 1.1 crore respectively and 24 plots at prime locations in Cuttack and Kendrapada districts during raids on properties of Jaleswar BDO Ashwini Kumar Das for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his know sources of income.
According to an official release, searches are being conducted at six places.
1) double-storey building at Jhinkiria, Sri Krishna Vihar, near Bayalisamouza, Cuttack district
2) triple-storey building at Kalapada near Bayalisamouza, Cuttack district
3) Office at Block Office, Jaleswar, Balasore district
4) Govt residential quarter at Jaleswar, Balasore district
5) Office room of his wife Jyotirmayee Sahoo at Govt Press, Khapuria, Cuttack
6) Relative’s house at Bhuinpur village, Aul, Kendrapda district
While the double-storey building is worth Rs 1.1 crore and the triple-storey Rs 1.22 crore, the Vigilance sleuths also unearthed a brick factory at Kalapada, four four-wheelers (Skoda-Rapid Active, Innova, Scorpio and Nano), three two-wheelers, Rs 1.7 lakh in cash, 330 gm gold and 1.1 kg silver coins.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing, the release said, adding that searches are continuing.
