Jharsuguda: Income-Tax officials reportedly interrogated son of slain BJD leader Naba Kishore Das and brother of ruling party’s Jharsuguda MLA candidate Dipali Das.
According to sources, over 15 officials of I-T department conducted raids and interrogated Dipali’s brother Bishal Das and some other family members.
Office employees and businessmen linked to her family were also reportedly quizzed by the I-T sleuths on Friday, while Bishal was interrogated at a private hotel in Jharsuguda for several hours.
The I-T team interrogated Vishal for five hours and then released him.
Bishal and his family members were not immediately available for comment on the sudden development.
While the exact reason behind the I-T action was still unclear, the operation was stated to have been undertaken following recovery of cash from a temporary office set up in a hotel.
