Odisha BJP Leader Jayanarayan Mishra’s Daughter Quells ‘Kinnars’ Protest With Sweets

Bhubaneswar: While BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Jayanarayan Mishra spent his 60th birthday defending his action against a woman cop, his daughter Subhashree tried to quell a protest by Kinnars (transgenders) in front of their house by distributing sweets among them.

She also rebuffed it as a sponsored act and claimed that her father was being framed.

The transgenders had staged a demonstration protesting against the senior BJP leader’s behaviour and alleged scuffle with Anita Pradhan, inspector-in-charge (IIC) of Dhanupali police station in Sambalpur district. “The entire protest I believe was sponsored as they stopped once the cameras were off,” she said.

Subhashree further said Kinnars are considered reincarnations of Shiv-Shakti and following the principle of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, she treated them to sweets. “It was also my father’s birthday and nobody visiting us should leave our house empty-house. As the agitators were tired, I offered them water and sweets,” she said.

Defending her father’s action, she said that it was a reflex action since the cop had stomped on his feet. “He has not been keeping well and pushed the cop to release his feet. But no one is talking about how they pounced on him thereafter,” she said.

Subhashree added that this is a conspiration to defame her father, who will continue to work for the people of the state.

Earlier, several BJP leaders, including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, turned up at the official residence of Jayanarayan Mishra to extend wishes on his birthday.
