Bhubaneswar: A four-year-old boy abducted from Odisha by two labourers 12 days ago was traced and rescued by the police from Hyderabad. The boy, who hails from Komna area in Nuapada district, had been kidnapped on September 29.
Sources said two suspects, including a woman, were arrested in this connection. r who belonged to the Komna area of Nuapada district was kidnapped on September 29 when he had been to Balangir with his father.
The boy’s father had lodged a complaint at Komna police station, following which a search operation was launched. During investigation, police came to know about the kidnappers and tracked the mobile number used by them.
With the help of Telangana Police, Odisha Police traced the whereabouts of the child and rescued him from Hyderabad. The accused were also apprehended for interrogation.
The alleged kidnappers — Duryodhan Bariha (30) and Padmini Maji (35) — who had been hiding near brick kilns of Thumkunta village in Bommalaramaram mandal, were tracked. The two were apprehended by the Odisha police, and the boy has been reunited with his parents. Further investigation will be conducted by the Komna police in Odisha.
The motive behind the kidnapping is to be ascertained, and further investigation is underway.
