Bhubaneswar: Odisha boy Sattwik Swain reaffirmed his stature as one of the most talented young players in Indian chess by emerging champion in the 38th National Under-9 Open Chess Championship at Gurugram.
A cadet of Pro-Chess-Ta, the 9-year-old Bhubaneswar kid aggregated 10 points in 11 rounds to top the standings.
Sattwik has already earned international accolades, bagging a silver medal at the World Under-8 Championship in Italy in 2024.
