Bhubaneswar: With a low-pressure area set to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for 10 districts which are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in next 24 hours.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at one or two places are likely over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Cuttack and Angul.
IMD has also issued orange warning predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over nine districts — Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Puri, Khurda, Malkangiri and Koraput.
The state government asked the district collectors to remain alert for any water-logging and flood-like situation in view of the predictions.
