Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cabinet on Friday approved nine proposals including extension of the Mukhyamantri Krushi Udyog Yojana (MKUY) for another five years.
Speaking to media on the decisions taken at the Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, chief secretary Manoj Ahuja said the Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment department has submitted a proposal for extension of MKUY.
The Cabinet approved the proposal with a budgetary provision of Rs 847.14 crore to provide subsidy to the agricultural entrepreneurs.
Introduced in June 2028, the Yojana aims at encouraging agri-entrepreneurs and generating employment opportunities in the farm and allied sectors. The scheme was revised earlier twice in December 2020 and January 2024.
The Cabinet also approved the government guarantee of Rs 17,500 crore for the new bank loans to be availed by the Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) for a period of five years.
Following are other major Cabinet decisions:
- Restructuring of the Odisha Statistics and Economic Service cadre and the Odisha Subordinate Statics and Economics Service cadre under Planning and Convergence department
- Installation of rooftop solar of three lakh residential households by March 2027 under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijili Yojana
- Repeal of the Employment of Manual Scavengers and Construction of Dry Latrines (Prohibition) Act, 1993
