Bhubaneswar: Banapur Assistant Sessions Judge has again rejected the bail plea of Chilika MLA Prashant Jagadev in the case of the BJD leader ploughing his SUV into a crowd earlier this month.
He had been in Banapur Sub-Jail since March 22, when he was arrested after being discharged from a hospital and produced in the Court of JMFC, Banapur, which rejected his bail plea and remanded him to judicial custody.
The MLA had sustained grievous injuries as an irate mob assaulted him soon after he rammed his car into the crowd outside a block development office in Odisha’s Khurda district, which was a grim reminder of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. He was then admitted to a private hospital here.

On March 29, Jagadev was shifted to Capital Hospital here after he complained of illness while in jail.
