Bhubaneswar: With all arrangements put in place, the annual High School Certificate (HSC) Examinations in Odisha will commence from Friday and continue till March 20. This is the second summative examination of the HSC.
Sources said 5, 41, 247 high school students will sit for the examination at 3,218 centres.
Briefing mediapersons here Thursday, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das said that question papers of the HSC examinations have been kept at 316 nodal centres and those will be taken everyday to these centres amid tight security.
He further stated that special measures have been taken to check malpractices this year.“Keeping in view the heat wave, exams will be conducted from 8 to 10 am while students have to reach their respective centres by 7 am,” he said, adding that 57 central squads have been formed to check malpractice while CCTVs have been installed at the exam centres.
He also added that the centres, where cases of copying were reported earlier, have been scrapped.
While stressing that students have been instructed to reach the centres one hour before the exam, Odisha BSE President Ramashis Hazra said that a dispatch team will take the question papers from the nodal centres and a police team will escort them. “As per instructions of the Chief Secretary, a district administration vehicle will also follow the team. The papers will reach between 6-7 am, not earlier or later than that. Security arrangements have also been done for Madhayama and State Open School Certificate (SOSC) exams, which will be held simultaneously. Students have been asked to take only admit cards, black and blue pens, pencils and geometry boxes. All mobile phones will kept under lock and key,” he told mediapersons.
