Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday sanctioned Rs.8.5 crore for the development of Baladevjew Temple and the grand road in front of the 18th century shrine in Kendrapara.
A decision to develop the temple, which is famous as Tulsi Khetra, into an attractive religious tourist site was taken at a high-level meeting during which the CM interacted with Kendrapara Collector, MP and MLA, Temple Trust members and the servitors through video conferencing this evening, official sources said.
Naveen has directed the officers to maintain the quality of the projects and complete them before the next car festival.
The Development Plan
Baladevjew Temple and its premises will be decorated with attractive lighting system.
Both the sides of grand road will also have striking lighting system.
Other decisions include development of a spiritual park in the town, renovation of the heritage tank, conservation of ancient monuments, development of drainage system and strengthening of temple security, the sources added.
Notably, Naveen had visited the temple in July this year on the day of Snana Purnima and the servitors had drew his attention to different plaguing issues.
