Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday handed over appointment letters and Rs ten lakh financial assistance each to the wives of two police personnel who were killed in an accident recently.
Prabhasini Behera of Cuttack and Debi Shabar of Rayagada expressed their gratitude while receiving the assistance from the Chief Minister.
Both met the Chief Minister at Lok Seva Bhawan. The CM handed over appointment letters for the post of home guard and cheque of Rs 10 lakh each. The Chief Minister inquired about their well-being and advised them not to worry as the government is with them. Majhi wished them all the best for their future lives and families.
They expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister with tearful eyes for the Chief Minister’s solidarity.
Prabhasini’s husband Jagabandhu Mahali was working as a home guard and Debi’s husband Loknath Shabar was working as an OAPF Jawan. Both died in an accident while traveling in a PCR van on the April 22 while on duty in Cuttack.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department Satyabrat Sahu, Director General of Police Y.B. Khurania, Director General of Home Guard and Fire Department Sudhanshu Sadangi and other senior police officers were prominently present on the occasion.
