Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the upcoming Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath and siblings in Puri.
This information was shared by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida soon after her return from New Delhi.
The world-famous Rath Yatra festival, which attracts lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad, is scheduled to be held on June 27 this year.
The Chief Minister has also invited all Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of NDA-ruled states to visit Puri and witness the annual car festival., she said
This apart, the CM has also invited Prime Minister Modi as well as Union Home Minister Amit Shah to attend the celebrations marking the first anniversary of the BJP government in the state, the Deputy CM said.
“The CM has invited PM Modi for this year’s Rath Yatra and also to attend the event being organised to commemorate the first anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha. PM Modi might consider the invitation. The invite has also been extended to Home Minister Amit Shah and all Union Ministers and CMs of NDA-ruled states,” Parida told reporters after her arrival at the Bhubaneswar airport.
It may be noted that elaborate arrangements are being made to celebrate the completion of the first year of the BJP dispensation in the state. Several events such as publication of report cards, exhibitions and public meetings would be conducted at the block, district and state levels from June 11 to 13, sources said.
The state-level programme will be held at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, while the districts will host three-day-long events and five-day exhibitions by Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS).
