Cuttack: Amid patriotic fervour ahead of Independence Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday participated in an impressive Tiranga Yatra in 42 Mouza area of Cuttack district.
Thousands of people from different sections of society joined the 10-km procession waving the national flag with pride in a vibrant display of nationalism.
The Chief Minister joined the grand Tricolour Rally, regarded as a patriotic event held as part of the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The rally witnessed participation of a large number of dignitaries, including Cuttack Sadar MLA Prakash Chandra Sethi and local representatives. Waving the national flag, many participants also took part in a striking motorbike procession with enthusiasm.
The rally, which began at Jhinkiria, drew crowds along the route. With flags in hand and chants of unity, the event marked a spirited build-up to Independence Day celebrations in the state.
Noting that the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally based on the national flag is being carried out all over the country, the Chief Minister said the campaign that started on August 12 continued for three days.
“I participated in the Tiranga Yatra held at 42 Mouza of Cuttack Sadar. Main aim of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is to give due honour to the national flag and create widespread awareness among people,” Majhi said.
Younger generations must know about the significance of our tricolour. This nationwide campaign was started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The campaign was also carried out in every nook and corner of the country, last year, the CM added.
