Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Ama Sathi’ Unified WhatsApp Bot at Lok Seva Bhawan, marking a major step towards transparent and citizen-centric governance.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also opened 57 new sub-registration offices across the state, completing the government’s promise of establishing such offices in all 317 tehsils. It will go a long way in further strengthening the state’s administrative infrastructure and improving access to registration services across the state.
Sub-registration offices have now become operational in all 317 tehsils, including 57 newly opened offices and one additional office in Cuttack.
With the launch of ‘Ama Sathi’ Unified Bot, people will now be able to access revenue directly through WhatsApp by contacting 9437292000. The service will be available 24×7, offering more than 170 essential government services without the need for intermediaries.
The Chief Minister emphasized that this reform will eliminate middlemen, improve efficiency, and strengthen public trust in governance. He noted that transparency is the foundation of a “Developed Odisha.”
“People often face hardship while running from courts to tehsils and lawyers in an attempt to resolve complicated land-related issues. The introduction of this digital platform will allow citizens to access services from anywhere, saving both time and effort. Through this digital initiative, the long-standing hopes and expectations of the people are set to be fulfilled,” CM Majhi said.
Eleven critical revenue services such as caste, residence, and legal heir certificates, mutation and conversion cases—now available via WhatsApp and the ‘Ama Sathi’ app.
Land records can be easily updated in favour of legal heirs, while farmers will be able to access government schemes and benefits without hassles.
Majhi reiterated that the government’s core principle is to “bring services to the people’s doorstep.” By leveraging technology, the state aims to reduce the burden on citizens, save time, and ensure corruption-free delivery of services.
