Bhubaneswar: In a major administrative reform to ease and decentralise land registration service, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday inaugurated the facility for land purchase and sale at Tehsil offices.
The Chief Minister inaugurated new sub-registrar offices at 44 Tehsils in 13 districts of the state through video conference from Bhubaneswar.
From now on, land registration services will be available in these 44 Tehsil offices as part of the first phase of the rollout. All 273 Tehsils will be brought under the system in subsequent phases.
Under the initiative, the state government has established 12 new sub-registrar offices in Mayurbhanj, seven in Koraput, five in Dhenkanal and three each in Dhenkanal and Kandhamal, an official statement said.
Notably, the state government had announced recently that it would offer land registration services at Tehsil offices from November 1.
The initiative would cover 44 Tehsils in the first phase while there was a plan to expand it to all 273 Tehsils by December this year.
With this new initiative, people can complete the land registration process at Tehsil offices by booking slots online in a simplified mechanism.
