Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday launched Odia science reference books for Class XI students.
Officials said that the books, prepared by the School and Mass Education Department, cover subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
The state government will distribute 10-20 books to each high school, and they will be available in libraries. The Institute of Odia Studies & Research will ensure they’re sold in district headquarters centres. Around 1,20,000 students from 700 schools will benefit following the initiative
Plans are afoot to prepare Odia science books for Class XII in the next phase, making reference books available in Odia from primary to higher education.
The event was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, Law and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Commerce, Transport, Steel, and Mines Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena, Housing and Urban Development Minister Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Handloom, Textile, and Handicrafts Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta, Industries and Skills Development Minister Sampad Chandra Swain, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj and Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
