Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday laid the foundation stone of Tirtol-Posal High-Level bridge and Jaipur-Katikata bridge in Jagatsinghpur district through video conferencing.
“The necessary development work will continue and will not be stalled by the ongoing war against the novel coronavirus,” the CM said after laying the foundation stone of the two bridges.
Tirtol assembly constituency is scheduled to go to bypolls later this year.
The Tirtol-Postal High-Level bridge will cost about Rs. 118.56 crore while Jaipur-Katikata bridge will be constructed at the cost of Rs 82.55 lakh.
The bridges over the Mahanadi will improve the connectivity of Tirtol, Kujang, Raghunathpur and Garadapur blocks with Cuttack and Kendrapada districts. It will benefit about 2.5 lakh residents of 28 villages.
Minister of Steel and Mines Prafulla Kumar Mallik, who took part in the event from Dhenkanal via video conferencing, stated that these bridges will play a pivotal role in the developmental process.
Rural Development Minister Sushant Singh, Information & Public Relations Minister Raghunandan Das, Jagatsinghpur MP Rajshree Mallick, Jagatsinghpur MLA Prashant Muduli and Paradeep MLA Sambit Routray also attended the event.
