Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik May Visit New Delhi This Week
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is likely to make a 2-3 day trip to New Delhi, starting Friday, sources said.
The details of his visit are yet to be finalised.
He last attended the 5th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog in the national capital in June 2019.
The Chief Minister has mostly stayed indoors since the COVID pandemic hit Odisha in March 2020. He has limited his public appearances and toured a few places like Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Malkangiri, Puri and Cuttack in the last some months.
On Wednesday, he distributed smart health cards to beneficiaries at Titlagarh, Patnagarh and Balangir during his visit to the western Odisha district.
However, he may avoid a physical trip to Pipili to seek votes for the BJD candidate, Rudra Pratap Maharathy, for the September 30 byelection, party insiders said.
