Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday inaugurated the Eco Retreat at Konark in Puri district for 2025-26 season.
The facility, which has been set up at Konark’s Chandrabhaga beach, has 70 luxury tent houses for tourists.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, MLAs and senior state government officials were present at the inaugural ceremony.
According to the Tourism department, accommodation at Eco Retreat Konark will be available till March 12. Visitors will be able to enjoy facilities similar to five-star hotels, including food and night stay.
Of the 70 tent houses set up at Konark Eco Retreat this year, 30 are deluxe cottages, 20 premium cottages, 8 presidential villas and 12 royal cottages.
The charges will be – between Rs 5,400 and Rs 9,000 per night for deluxe cottage, and between Rs 7,000 and Rs 16,000 for premium cottage.
For a royal cottage, the tariff will be between Rs 10,000 and Rs 16,000, while visitors will have to shell out between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000 for a presidential villa.
At the Konark Eco Retreat, tourists can enjoy watersports, beach shacks, parasailing, cycling, beach volleyball and yoga among other facilities.
The eco retreat also has two bars and conference hall facilities.
In November, the Tourism department launched eco retreat facilities at six scenic locations across the state for 2025-26 season.
Deputy CM Parida, who also holds the Tourism portfolio, had on November 15 launched eco retreat facilities at Bhitarkanika in Kendrapara, Satkosia in Angul, Hirakud in Sambalpur, Daringbadi in Kandhamal, Sonapur in Ganjam and Putsil in Koraput through virtual mode from ‘Odisha Parab’ in Bengaluru.
