Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will chair a meeting on Tuesday evening to review the COVID-19 pandemic situation in Odisha.
He will hold a discussion with the district collectors via video conferencing at 5 pm.
This comes 48 hours before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with CMs on the current COVID-19 situation and vaccination strategy.
According to sources, Naveen is likely to take feedback from the collectors of districts bordering Chhattisgarh, which reported 7302 cases on Tuesday. Night curfew has already been imposed in 10 districts of Odisha with Sundargarh, Bargarh, Kalahandi and Nuapada witnessing a surge in new cases.

The meeting is likely to look into the possibility of bringing more districts under night curfew. Khurda is the other district that has witnessed a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Amid the rise in cases in the state, the availability of vaccines and hospital beds are also likely to feature in the discussion.
The Odisha government has written to the Health Ministry for 15 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine for uninterrupted inoculation drive.

Screening of people coming from high-risk states, stricter enforcement of CVID-19 protocols at crowded places and mobilising HCWs and FLWs again future challenges are likely to be discussed.
