Odisha CM’s Grievance Cell To Remain Closed On Feb 10

Bhubaneswar: The public grievance hearing on February 10 (Monday) has been suspended due to some some important official engagement of Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, an official release said on Saturday.

The next date will be announced through newspapers and other media via press release, it added.

During the eighth session of Odisha Chief Minister’s public grievance hearing on February 3, Majhi had ordered for immediate medical treatment of a 12-year-old boy from Balangir district. He also sanctioned Rs five lakh for treatment of a 7-year-old girl from Boudh district, Pratyusha Giri, suffering from a rare disease, and also assured a house for her family under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Sharing updates, the CM stated that 6,545 of 8,031 complaints have been resolved. “1,000 new applications and 700 complaints have ben forwarded for action. A child from Boudh district received Rs 5 lakh assistance, and housing was approved. The government aims to resolve all pending applications within 90 days and advised people to approach district collectors for grievance redressal instead of traveling to Bhubaneswar,” he added.

On February 6, he also instructed senior officials to prioritise and expedite the resolution of public grievances to restore faith in government processes.

The CM had revived the much-awaited public hearing, which was discontinued in 2008, at the designated grievance cell at Unit-V here from July 1, 2024.
