Bhubaneswar: A court in Odisha capital refused to grant bail to con woman Hansita Abhilipsa and her aide Anil Mohanty, arrested by the Commissionerate Police for allegedly duping several high-profile personalities in the state.
As per information, the court of Additional District Judge-2 in Bhubaneswar had earlier reserved its judgment on their bail plea after hearing the arguments. The court rejected their bail applications.
On the other hand, the Commissionerate Police have moved the court seeking a five-day remand of the two for interrogation. The Special Crime Unit has filed two cases against the con woman and her aide for duping wealthy people of huge amount of money.
This apart, there are allegations of trafficking of young women and girls against her. The two were earlier remanded and during interrogation, the police had gathered crucial information.
The investigating team is seeking to gather more information regarding their alleged involvement in human trafficking and therefore, will move to court to seek their remand again.
It may be noted that Hansita and her aide Anil were taken into custody by Bhubaneswar police on December 31 for allegedly duping businessmen and mine operators of huge amount of money. They posed as the daughter and son-in-law of PK Mishra, Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to carry out their fraudulent activities.
