Odisha COVID-19 Tally Crosses 16000 With Another Record Spike Of 718 Cases, 150 From Khurda

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported the second-highest single-day spike of 718 COVID-19  cases in the last 24 hours, which took the affected tally to 16110 on Friday.

The state had registered 755 positive cases on July 10.

Of the new cases reported from 24 districts, 479 have been detected in quarantine centres while 239 are local contact cases.

According to I & PR department, Ganjam district reported the highest of 231 cases followed by Khurda (150), Malkangiri (54), Cuttack (32), Keonjhar (28), Koraput (27), Jharsuguda (24), Mayurbhanj (22), Gajapati (21), Rayagada (19), Jagatsinghpur (16), Nayagarh (13), 10 each in Sundargarh and Bhadrak, nine each in Angul, Puri and Balasore, seven each in Kandhamal and Sambalpur, Dhenkanal (6), Sonepur (5), four each in Bargarh and Kendrapada, and Nabarangpur (1).

With 79 deaths and 10877 recoveries, Odisha now has 5124 active cases.
