Bhubaneswar: With 67 more deaths due to COVID-19 being confirmed in the last 24 hours, the toll in August touched 795 on Thursday.

The list of daily fatalities includes past deaths for which an audit was done and the cause identified as COVID, the Health Department said.

Odisha has so far seen 6,697 deaths due to the deadly disease and 68 per cent of these fatalities have been reported during the second wave.

While May saw 660 deaths, the number swelled to 1,272 in June and it rose further to 1,884 in July.

Twenty of 30 districts have more than 100 deaths each.

Among the 67 casualties, Cuttack district reported the highest of 18 followed by 11 from Khurda (including 6 from Bhubaneswar), 9 from Sambalpur, 5 from Jajpur, 4 each from Mayurbhanj and Kendrapada, 3 each from Dhenkanal and Sonepur, 2 each from Puri and Balasore, and one each from Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Nuapada and Sundargarh.

The deceased are identified as:

1.A 76 years of old Male of Balasore District.

2.A 58 years of old Male of Balasore District.

3.A 60 years of old Male of Bhadrak District.

4.A 72 years of old Male of Bhubaneswar.

5.A 71 years of old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, BPH.

6.A 55 years of old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Chronic Kidney Disease, Chronic Liver Disease with PHTN with Oesophageal Varices.

7.A 59 years of old Female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.

8.A 63 years of old Male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension.

9.A 45 years of old Male of Bhubaneswar.

10.A 55 years of old Female of Cuttack District.

11.A 72 years of old Male of Cuttack District.

12.A 70 years of old Male of Cuttack District.

13.A 70 years of old Male of Cuttack District.

14.A 42 years of old Male of Cuttack District.

15.A 55 years of old Female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension.

16.A 70 years of old Male of Cuttack District.
