Odisha COVID Update: Daily Count Crosses 500 After 5 Days, 54% New Cases From Khurda
Bhubaneswar: After a gap of five days, the daily COVID caseload in Odisha crossed 500 on Wednesday as 549 more people, including 70 in the 0-18 years age group, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 433 new cases on Tuesday, 425 on Monday, 447 new cases on Sunday, 441 on Saturday, 467 on Friday, and 524 on Thursday.
According to the I & PR department, 318 of the new infections are from quarantine and 231 local contacts. Khurda district reported the highest 296 cases, followed by Cuttack (50) and Sambalpur (16). Seven districts saw nil cases.

Besides, 67 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 72,091 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.76 per cent.
While the COVID-19 tally has touched 1039818, Odisha now has 4673 active cases.
