Bhubaneswar: All the government departments in Odisha have been directed to ensure payment of full pension to employees of all ranks on the day of their retirement.
Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has sent a letter to all the government departments to ensure full pension of the employees on the day of their retirement.
The government officials authorised to sanction pensions have also been directed to ensure the full payment of pension to all the eligible employees on the day of their superannuation.
Earlier, the General administration and the grievance redressal department was instructed to provide the full pension of the retirement day itself. However, it wasn’t being followed in many departments.
As per the Odisha Civil Services pension rules of 1992, all the employees have been asked to take necessary steps to ensure the full payment of pension.
Employees having allegations and vigilance cases are asked to clear them before the date of their retirement. For good governance and on humanity grounds, such a step has been taken. This will be a measure of the skill of the employees.
On the seventh of every month, the pension related information of the retired employees are to be specified, the letter said.
