Berhampur: With most policemen deployed across Berhampur police district to maintain law and order, DIG Southern Range Satyabrata Bhoi and SP Pinak Mishra did their bit to make Diwali special for their children and families by celebrating the festival with them at Reserve Police Colony here on Saturday.
The top cops also distributed sweets among them. “It was a great experience for all of us and we never feel neglected,” said family members of one of the cop.
Berhampur SP also visited several traffic posts of Berhampur to wish the on-duty officers on Diwali.
The general public, however, disapproved bursting of crackers by some people in the Silk City.
The Odisha government has put a ban on sale and use of firecrackers till November 30, considering its potentially harmful consequences amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
