Speaking to media persons after the visit, Panda said counting of votes polled in 5 Assembly segments under Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat will be held in the BJB College on Tuesday.

“A three-layer security ring has been put in place at the college. While the CRPF personnel will be on guard in the inner circle to protect the EVM strong room, SAP has been deployed around the building periphery and the Commissionerate of Police will look after the security in the outer ring,” he said.

Total 38 platoons of armed police besides 5 companies of CAPF will be deployed in the constituency to maintain law and order. Eight Additional DCPs, 14 ACPs, 35 Inspectors and nearly 200 police officers under Bhubaneswar DCP would look after the security, he added.

The Commissioner said since a good number of people including officials are expected on the day of counting, additional security arrangements have been made for them. “For the visitors coming to the counting centre, a separate shed has been constructed outside the college. A television has been provided for live coverage of the counting. Police force will also be deployed there to maintain law and order and traffic police will regulate the movement of the visitors’ vehicles,” he added.

Besides, police force has been deployed in offices of political parties in the city. “Security arrangements have also been made for victory procession to be carried out by the winning candidates. Besides, striking force will be ready at different police stations,” the Commissioner said.
