Odisha Elections 2024: BJD Ticket Selection Work For Remaining LS Seats Underway At Naveen Niwas

Bhubaneswar: The BJD candidate selection exercise for remaining four Lok Sabha and their constituent 28 Assembly seats in Odisha got underway at Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

The brainstorming session for candidate selection and formulating precise strategies for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak parliamentary constituencies and the Assembly segments under them began around 11 am. Keonjhar observer Pranab Prakash Das, Bhadrak observer Sanjay Das Burma, Balasore observer Pratap Deb and Mayurbhanj Prashant Muduli were present at the review meetings being chaired by party president Naveen Patnaik in presence of senior leader V K Pandian.

The review meeting for Mayurbhanj was held at 11 am, followed by Keonjhar at noon while that for Balasore and Bhadrak is scheduled for 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm, respectively.

Naveen has so far reviewed lists of probable candidates for 17 Lok Sabha and 119 Assembly seats.

Notably, the BJP has announced its candidates for these four Lok Sabha seats. The party has retained the tickets of sitting MPs of three of these constituencies – Ananta Nayak (Keonjhar), Pratap Sarangi (Balasore), Avimanyu Sethi (Bhadrak), while Union Jal Shakti and Tribal Affairs Minister Bishweswar Tudu has been replaced by Naba Charan Majhi from Mayurbhanj.
