Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is set to hold marathon campaign in western Odisha on Sunday to garner support for party candidates for the ensuing elections.
During his whirlwind tour of the region, the BJD supremo is scheduled to attend public meetings in Balangir as well as Bargarh districts to bolster the party’s prospects in the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.
According to party sources, the CM is slated to land at Utkela Airport in Kalahandi district and then proceed go to Sindhekela under Bongomunda block by helicopter. Naveen is schedule to attend a public meeting at Sindhekela.
Similarly, the BJD chief will address an election rally at Ganrei village under Muribahal block. Thereaftere, he is schedule to campaign for Balangir constituency.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the CM’s visit to the district and 12 platoons of police force have been deployed in Sindhekela, while 11 platoons deployed in Ganrei.
Notably, that BJD supremo also contesting from Kantabanji Assembly constituency in Balangir district apart from his home turf Hinjili in Ganjam. He filed the nomination for Kantabanji seat on May 2.
