Odisha Fake Certificate Racket: 4 Arrested In Koraput; Complaint Against 6 In Sambalpur
Koraput: Four persons were arrested for allegedly submitting fake educational certificates to secure postal jobs at Jeypore in Odisha’s Koraput district.
According to sources, the accused job aspirants had submitted fake certificate regarding their educaitonal qualification.
Several persons had applied for the post of branch postmaster and assistant branch postmaster. However, some certificates were found to be fake during verification of documents and a complaint was lodged at the Jeypore police station by the postal department.
Acting on the complaint, a police team conducted investigation and arrested the four persons. Investigation is still in progress and further details are awaited, said police.
It may be noted here that incidents of aspirants submitting fake certificates to get different jobs have come to light from several parts of the state after a major racket was busted in Balangir.
Meanwhle, a fresh report from Sambalpur said that fake certificates allegedly submitted by aspirants of postal jobs have surfaced in the district.
The matter came to the fore after a complaint was filed by Sambalpur Division Postal Superintendent against six aspirants at the Town Police station.
While police have launched an investigation into the incident. The six aspirants are reportedly from Bargarh, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi, and Deogarh districts.
As per initial reports, all six aspirants have submitted certificates from some educational institutes in Uttar Pradesh. All of them had applied for Gramin Dak Sevak posts.
Earlier, similar allegations of submission of fake certificates by job aspirants were reported from Balangir, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Kandhamal, and Kendrapada districts.
Meanwhile, the remand period of the four accused in Balangir fake certificate case in Balangir – Manoj Mishra, Alok Udgata, Tribihari Panda, and Paresh is coming to an end today. The the Crime Branch will produce all of them in court.
The Crime Branch had on Friday attached the property of prime accused Manoj Mishra.
As per a fresh report from Balangir, accused Alok Udgata has been admitted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital. Further details are awaited
