Malkangiri: The entire Malkangiri municipality was declared as a containment zone after 21 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the area on Friday, Malkangiri Collector Manish Agarwal tweeted.
Moreover, eight new COVID-19 cases were reported from Malkangiri district in the last 24 hours on Saturday.
During the period of containment, all movement of vehicles including public transport and that of people will be stopped. All the residents within the containment zone will strictly remain at home.

All shopping establishments as well as government and private institutions located within the containment zone will also be closed.
The administration will ensure the supply of essentials and medicines to the people.
The containment zone was ordered to restrict the movement of people and carry out intensive surveillance and contact tracing.
