Odisha Fights COVID-19: Top Officials Review Progress At Standalone Hospitals

Bhawanipatna Facility Opens With 50 Beds, Sambalpur Hospital To Have 200 Beds

Bhawanipatna: The standalone COVID-19 hospital of Odisha government, set up at the Government Engineering College in Bhawanipatna, started operating from Wednesday. with 50 beds.

Within seven days. it will have 200 beds including 6 ICUs.

Another standalone state government COVID hospital, at Sambalpur, will have 200 beds including 20 ICUs. It will function from the District Headquarter Hospital.

A high-level state team of officials, including 5t Secretary V K Pandian and Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra, visited these hospitals. They checked the manpower tie-up, medicines, ICU facility, isolation wards, etc and expressed satisfaction with the progress being made in those hospitals.

In Kalahandi, the SP was told to ensure that the Chhattisgarh border is strictly sealed.

The DIG, Sambalpur, was asked to keep an eye on the communal situation. He was asked to ensure smooth movement of agriculture produce.
