Bhubaneswar: Hundreds of students from Utkal University and Rama Devi Women’s University here staged protests on Monday to demand postponement of semester exams amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The protesters stood at the gates of their universities holding placards and shouting slogans to press for their demand.
They alleged that there was risk of the spread of infection if the exams are conducted on the scheduled dates.
Earlier, the students of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla, Sambalpur had protested against the varsity’s decision to hold semester exams in July.
VSSUT had issued a notice asking students, who are supposed to appear their end term semester exams in July, to start arriving at the university from June 18.
