Cuttack: Four days after the sensational escape of dreaded gangster Sheikh Hyder from SCB Medical College and Hospital, sources in Cuttack Commissionerate Police said the gangster had escaped on a bike.
Sources said Hyder with his two sons Sheikh Azharuddin and Sheikh Chuna had prepared a blueprint for the escape.
As per the plan, two brand new Pulsar bikes were purchased through Sallu Khan alias Yakub (a close aide of Hyder, who was arrested by Chauliaganj Police). Apart from this, the timing of the escape was also scheduled to give a slip to the police.
Prior to the escape of Hyder, a series of recce was done during his previous shifting to SCB in January and February this year. Not only this, Hyder had the details about the mode of his shifting from Sambalpur to Cuttack and he was also cross-checking whether the medical outpost inside the SCB premises has any information about his presence in the surgery ward.
After a careful observation, the date of escape was finalised. Taking note of less police checking in the city, especially in the afternoon hours, Hyder managed to escape on a bike with his two sons. Eight other family members were also involved in the escape.
