Berhampur: A day after disconnecting power supply to Khallikote Autonomous College here for non-payment of Rs 5 lakh dues, Tata Power South Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) restored the connection on Tuesday.
Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda and Ganjam Collector Vijay Amrit Kulange intervened into the matter leading the way to restoration of power.
Meanwhile, Ganjam Bar Association (GBA) has expressed resentment over the decision of TPSODL to snap power supply to a government managed educational institution.
“This is a harsh step and the electricity distribution company ought to have discussed the matter with Berhampur MLA and Ganjam Collector before taking such a step”, the GBA said.
GBA members also submitted a letter and urged TPSODL to desist from such harsh steps in the future.
