Odisha Girl’s Video Goes Viral In Pakistan, For All The Wrong Reasons
Kendrapada: A 16-year-old girl in Kendrapada district has accused a Bengali youth of posting her intimate photographs on social media.
The objectionable posts have since gone viral in the country as well as in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Turkey and other places, the girl said, appealing to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for action against the youth, his brother and others.
The teenager said the youth, Md. Milan Sheikh, was involved in an international sex racket. He had similarly trapped four other girls earlier and then blackmailed them, she said, adding that he was also arrested in one of the cases.
The girl’s family had also lodged a complaint at Kendrapada Sadar police station against the youth from Nadia district, West Bengal in May. But the police were not arresting the accused because he knew a politically-influential couple in the area, the family claimed.
The family said Milan was part of a group of masons they had engaged to build their house. He befriended the girl and tried to get into a physical relationship.
The girl accused the youth of emotionally blackmailing her. “When I objected to his sexual advances, he cut his palm with a razor. He threatened to end his life. I was petrified and accepted his proposal,” the teenager was quoted as saying by Indus Valley Times.
“After that, he used to call me every night for video chats. During one such chat, he asked me to pose for some close body shots. I didn’t suspect anything and obliged. But he took advantage of my simplicity and slyly took some screenshots. He then started blackmailing me for sex. But I resisted him and he posted the objectionable screenshots on various social media platforms. His brother and some friends helped him in this,” she added.
The girl further claimed that Milan’s younger brother, Md. Mulayam Sheikh, had threatened her over the phone to withdraw the police case.
IIC of Kendrapada Sadar police station Pabitra Maharana said an investigation was on and the culprits will be soon taken into custody.
