Odisha Govt Allows Indians Going Abroad To Take 2nd Dose Of Covishield

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday announced that the Indian citizens, who have taken the first dose of COVID vaccine Covishield or AstraZeneca in an outside country, can take the second dose of Covishield in the state.

In a letter to district administrations, PK Mohapatra, additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare has directed to administer the vaccine to those nationals even after the scheduled period of 12-16 weeks of taking the first dose and issue certificate of the same.

The person concerned can register on CoWIN app before taking the second dose of the vaccine in Odisha and the details of first dose can be recorded on the app, he added.

The district collectors have been told to inform the officials engaged in the vaccination programme to implement the order for the benefit of the citizens who want to return to foreign countries for education or employment.
