Odisha Govt Asks OPSC To Start Process For Appointment Of Over 7,000 Doctors

Bhubaneswar: In its effort to improve health services in the state, the Odisha government has initiated the step for appointment of over 7,000 doctors to newly created posts.

In a letter to Odisha Pubic Service Commission (OPSC) on Monday, Sahalini Pandit, secretary, Health and Family Welfare department has asked to start the process for recruitment of 7,276 doctors in Class-A posts.

Of these posts, 2,500 are unreserved, while 714 are reserved for SEBC, 1,597 for SC and 2,465 for ST candidates, according to the break-up of the posts issued by the department.

It may be noted that the state government recently created 5,000 new posts of Leave Training Reserve Medical Officer (LTRMO) in the rank of Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and Health Services (OMHS).

The new posts have been created in District Headquarters Hospitals (DHHs), Sub-Divisional hospitals, community health centres (CHHs), Capital Hospital and Rourkela Government Hospital.
