Odisha Govt Directs Officials Not To Use Centre’s Vaccines For 18 Above

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday directed the officials not to use COVID-19 vaccines supplied by the Central government for the 18 to 44 years age group of population.

In an official letter to district collectors, municipal commissioners and CDMOs, additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare, PK Mohapatra gas stated that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has communicated that COVID-19 vaccines will be supplied for vaccination of existing prioritised beneficiaries i.e. health care workers (HCWs), frontline warriors (FLWs) and persons aged 45 years and above only, earmarked as government of India channel vaccine.

The 18 to 44 years age group of population shell be vaccinated with the supply by state government, private hospitals and hospitals of industrial establishments out of other than government of India channel vaccine.

Mohapatra told the officials that the government of India vaccine supply earmarked tor existing prioritised beneficiaries should not be used for vaccination of 18 to 44 years group of people.
