Odisha Govt Inks MoU With CIIT For Network Of Clubfoot Clinics
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cure International India Trust (CIIT) to establish CURE Clubfoot Odisha, a state-wide programme, for treatment of clubfoot in the state.
On behalf of the state government, the agreement was signed by director, health services BK Brahma, women and child development department additional secretary Ashok Bhuyan, social security and empowerment of persons with disabilities (SSEPD) department joint secretary Kailash Sahu and CIIT director Santosh Jeorge in presence of health and family welfare department commissioner-cum-secretary Dr Pramod Kumar Meherda.
The collaborative efforts of the health and family welfare, SSEPD, women and child development and mission shakti departments and CIIT will facilitate quality assured successful implementation of clubfoot treatment in the state in a manner that will ensure sustainability over time by ownership and capacity building of the staff in public hospitals identified for the purpose.
Through joint efforts of the three government departments and CIIT, a network of clubfoot clinics will be established in the identified hospitals in the state with a goal of making the treatment accessible to every child born suffering from it.
