Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has invited bids for e-auction of 12 virgin mineral blocks in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Koraput and Nuapada.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 10(B) of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 and in accordance with the Mineral (Auction) Rules, 2015 as amended from time to time notified thereunder, the Government of Odisha has identified 12 (twelve) minerals blocks as under for electronic auction and hereby invites tenders for the purposes of grant of mining lease,” the December 4 notification issued by Directorate of Mines and Geology.
The mineral blocks lined up for auction are three iron ore, one iron ore and aluminous laterite, two bauxite, one manganese, one manganese & iron ore, one iron ore & manganese, and one limestone.
“Financial bids are invited in digital format only and technical bids are invited both in digital and physical format from eligible bidders. Eligibility conditions, date and time for participating in the electronic auction are provided in the tender document,” it further stated.
Detailed tender documents along with timelines, notifications, updates and other details for the e-auction process for the mineral blocks are available in electronic form only and can be downloaded from the website of MSTC Limited: (https://www.mstcecommerce.com/auctionhome/micin/).
Last date for purchase of tender document after payment of a tender fee on website of e-auction platform provider is January 27, 2026, and the last date for submission of the bid is on or before 5 pm on February 3, 2026,, it added
Interestingly, the state government had ended the self-imposed embargo, which lasted for almost two years, on e-auction of its mineral blocks this March this year by inviting bids for eight blocks in Sundargarh and Keonjhar districts for grant of lease for iron ore and manganese mines.
