Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will observe the completion of two years in office in a low-key manner, with greater emphasis on highlighting its achievements and welfare initiatives rather than grand festivities.

This was decided at a preparatory meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan here on Thursday.

Given the prevailing crisis-like situation due to developments in West Asia, the Chief Minister directed that the celebrations should be conducted without pomp and grandeur. He stressed that the focus should be on effectively communicating the government’s achievements to the people. “The achievements of this government are for the people. Therefore, we must ensure that every citizen is made aware of them,” he said.

According to a CMO release, the two-year celebrations will be held from June 12 to June 21 with programmes organised at both state and district levels. The events will be structured around seven key themes: Shakti Odisha, Samriddha Krushi Odisha (Prosperous Agriculture Odisha), Susta Odisha (Healthy Odisha), Nirmal Odisha (Clean Odisha), Utkarsha Odisha (Excellent Odisha), Janashakti Odisha (People’s Power Odisha), and Kaushal Odisha (Skilled Odisha).

The government will disseminate information about its initiatives through print, electronic, and social media platforms, along with the publication of booklets and pamphlets. Special emphasis will be on showcasing the impact of various public welfare schemes and how they have benefited the common people. The government’s vision and goals for the decade 2026–2036 will also be highlighted during these programmes.

The Chief Minister instructed departmental ministers to organise press conferences to share the successes achieved in their respective departments over the past two years. He also directed the publication of leaflets and booklets showcasing departmental achievements. “Through these efforts, we will succeed in reaching the people with our vision for the state’s prosperity and public welfare,” Majhi added.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Works & Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Minister Ravi Narayan Nayak, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and senior secretaries of various departments.
