Sambalpur: Even as the National Anti-ragging Cell, New Delhi, has begun probe into the alleged ragging of a girl student of Odisha Medical College Of Homoeopathy and Research (OMCH&R) here, Health Minister Naba Das on Saturday directed the department’s Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to conduct an investigation.
The minister has directed ACS PK Mohapatra to submit the report of investigation into the incident within 3 days.
The national cell started the probe after a girl student of the college lodged a complaint on April 1 alleging that five girl students and a boy student harassed her on the plea of ragging on March 31.
Earlier in the day, principal of the homoeopathy college Rajendra Kumar Singh told the media that he came to know about the incident after being informed by the National Anti-ragging Cell regarding the complaint.
